Peter Wiles is part one of No Apparent Reason's stellar duo. He provides most of the explosions and destruction. In a way, he is training Samantha to be as dangerous with explosives and lightning as he is, but he hasn't gotten very far yet. Usually, he also heads the team's adventures. Peter doesn't go to school, nor does he have a job. He spends most of the time when Sam is at school in his room, building. Like Sam, he was created by the Carrot. |

Samantha Reese (Sam for short) makes up the rest of the NAR duo. She's a brainy girl with a good head on her shoulders, although she hasn't figured out what she's good at yet. She's had a hand in all of the duo's adventures, including a number of dramatic failiures of her well-meaning inventions. She'd probably be very good at schoolwork if she tried - as such, she fails nearly everything. Her troubles will soon be over, though, as she is soon to finish year 12. Like Peter, Sam was created by the Carrot. |

Jared is Peter's friend. He is very good with computers and is an ardent supporter of Wikipedia. He occasionally provides information and backup to the duo, and for a while they lived in his house. He has spiky hair because he wants to look original. |

Camille is Jared's girlfriend. She likes playing D&D and puts up with Jared's geekishness because he likes D&D as well. Camille is slim, blondeish, and looks horribly disproportional in this picture of her. |

The Carrot is the de facto God of the NAR-verse, most probably because nobody else wanted the job. His creation is explained in the Creation Myth. He also created Peter and Samantha and set the whole comic rolling. He knows full well that he is in a webcomic, unlike the duo. He seems to posess a great deal of power which he nearly never uses, and has the ability to be generally very annoying, megalomaniacal and insane. In other words, he's really cool. |

Logic is Carrot's friend and fellow god. Unlike Carrot, he doesn't have much power in the NAR-verse, so he's probably in it purely for the irony. Logic manages the real-life affairs of the gods, like where they live (in a small hotel room since it's cheaper) and often tries to reason with another one of Carrot's insane ideas. This usually fails. Logic has been described as 'John Howard in glasses'. |

Reason is the last of the NAR deities. Like Logic, he is another smidgeon of irony in NAR. Considering the comic is called No Apparent Reason, he has about as much to do as a small orange peel. Generally, he sits around and backs up Logic in his arguments with the Carrot. To be original, he has a total of four eyes and a ponytail, thus demonstrating that reason is completely subjective from person to person. |

The ninja are Peter's continual adversary. They all have katanas and their faces are wrapped in black (probably for easy recognition). In the end, they generally only serve as a nuisance to Peter's plans. For some reason, they're obsessed with iPods. |

Meep is the duo's and the Gods' main adversary. He is a maniacal evil genius of a penguin (officially a Leader Penguin), predisposed to all the cliched evil genius things like maniacal laughter and monologues. And like a true adversary, he hasn't been defeated yet. Meep began life as Peter and Sam's pet (Sam found him on the street probably plotting something). He learnt English and eventually escaped Peter and Samantha. He gathered a penguin army and tried to take over the world, but was defeated by the duo. Sent for safekeeping to the home of the Gods, he's trying to take over the world again. |

Ex-vampire sheep is the duo's new pet. In one of Peter and Sam's escapades, they got into trouble with vampire sheep. All were detonated except for this one, which was cured from its vampirism. Now it's simply a rather cute sheep which only says 'Bah'. Probably not evil but it's generally hard to tell. |
* To be fair, some of them are people.
